My next car? Maybe… LOL

img_9555
Ok, I came across this wicked post on Hi Consumption and just fell in love with the Watercar Pather Amphibious Jeep. Now I have seen a few amphibious cars in my life time, but none that can travel up to 44 mph (about 70 Km/h or ~38 knots since we are talking water speed). And with a land speed of 80 mph (~128 Km/h) this vehicle is a beast on land and sea.

The kit is available in the states in 3 different stages (as some states have higher regulations for custom-built cars and how they are licensed for road safety) with the full build priced at $135,000.…

They Nailed it, in 1982.

Every so often I come across an old ad for “The Future”, of how things will be etc.  CompuServe nailed it dead in 1982.

Mind you, if you can read the small text, they are actually talking about their own services.  If anyone can remember the days before the World Wide Web (WWW) and before the internet as we know it today (High speed internet via DSL/Cable).  If you can remember the days of 14.4k modems and BBS dial up servers, you may remember CompuServe, who closed competitor at the time was AOL (Which I am sure almost everyone knows).  My father used to subscribe to CompuServe.…

New Catagory for the CN Site: WTF

wtfbubble-2
Yup, I created a new category here for some of the strangest stuff I come across on the new. Here are a few things I have come across (this is just a quick post, so I may repost more about these individually later):

  • Edible Anus: Yup someone took a mold of someone ass, and then made chocolates out of the mold… Seriously, WTF!
  • Images you should not masturbate to: That’s right, a book packed with images you should not masturbate to… WTF!
  • Bacon Condoms: Yes, condoms that look like bacon, and as an added bonus, J&D’s baconlube™ ultra premium water based meat flavoured personal lubricant has been generously applied inside and out for an even more hot pork experience.

Portal: No Escape – Live Action Film

As many of you know I am a great fan of the Portal game series (Still working on finishing Portal 2 single player).  So when something like this comes along, the hair on the back of my neck stands up on end.  I think a full length motion picture would be an awesome idea.  Take a look at this short film by Dan Trachtenberg:…

I want this for my Home Office – The Emperor

Several years ago I came across the coolest office setup on Engadget.com but when I wanted to make a post about it lost year, I couldn;t seem to find it on their site.  Today I found it again on HiConsumption.com.

The Emperor is probably one of the most awesome setups I have seen for a computer desk/chair/build.  It comes in 2 different modles, and get this, its Canadian.  Their head office in Quebec, QC, qhich is about a 2 hour drive from my home in Montreal.  If I ever get a home office again, this would be the rig I would go with, if I could afford it the 200 series model.…

Man Crates, ’nuff said.

main_sprite
I just came across this site today and I have to say, I know what I want for my B-Day next week. I want a Zombie Annihilation Crate from ManCrates.com. Knives, Duct Tape, and Spam, 3 essentials for every Zombie Apocalypses, and it even includes a survival guide.

They also have an assortment of other Man Crates for everyone from Athletes to Carnivores to Beer Lovers (Check out the Personalized Barware crate). And the prices aren’t half bad. My only concern would be trying to shipping the Zombie survival crates across the border (As I am sure it originates in the states).…

Camping Season is upon us

Well, its pretty much summer now, and in less than 20 days it will officially be summer (June 21st, Summer solstice). Now one thing I love about summer, and I miss doing as I have not done it in years, is camping. When I was younger my family and I would travel across Canada camping along the way as we traveled to Edmonton to visit my grandparents and aunts. One time I remember us getting stuck in a windstorm, so strong it almost took our tent, with us in it. Thankfully there was a cement building which housed the washrooms, we ducked in there for a few hours till the storm passed.…
