Okay, well actually its June 30th, but as I am moving tomorrow I figured I would make my post today. I’ve been on the “Island” for 6 months now and am finally moving from a room in a house to an apartment 5 minutes from work. This is awesome news for me. The place where I am moving out off has been an interesting stay. For one the house seems to be located in its own little jungle, there are so many trees, bushes and plants in the front yard that you cannot even see the house from the side walk. This Jungle has its own wildlife which seems to wake up around 3:30am – 4:00am when all you hear is chirping outside my bedroom window, making it really hard to sleep. As I work afternoons (12:00pm to 6:00pm/9:00pm) I stay up late and sleep in till 10:00am, so the wonderful wildlife noises have been hell on my system. Second, the land-lady’s son has no idea if he is human or an elephant, cuz at 7:00am you can hear him trampling down the stairs thud after thud, again wreaking havoc on my sleeping patterns. And on weekends, when I LOVE to sleep in a little later, as the place has no door bell, just a sigh that says “Frapper fort” (“Knock hard” for the anglophones) all you hear are the land-lady’s son’s friends banging on the door (as early as 8:00am). Now don’t get me wrong, knock once or twice, but if no one comes to the door, STOP KNOCKING AND GO THE FUCK HOME… Damn kids knock for 45 freaking minutes sometimes. And thirdly, with 4 people living in the house, and only 1 bathroom… I hate having to wait to get into the bathroom to take my morning piss. Guys, you know what I am talking about, that early morning piss you gotta take so bad you can almost taste it… yeah, try holding it in for 15 minutes cuz someone wants to take a shower at the time you get up at….

So am I glad to moving into an apartment? HELL YES!, on so many levels. For one, its a 5 minute walk to work, instead of the present 30 minutes. There is a corner store 2 minutes away from the building that is open 24/7, my present place has a corner store same distance away, but it closes at 10:00pm and is closed Sundays. So much for my Saturday night Munchies. The new place has a pool which will be good for exercise, and we are 1/2 a block away from Lake Shore Drive where there are some amazing ice cream shops and restaurants (not to mention some good eye candy on hot summer days).

The only shitty part is that i will be moving on Canada Day, so while you are all basking in the sun downtown, I will be packing up my stuff and heading to the new place.

So HAPPY CANADA WEEKEND EVERYONE!
